It’s December 1st and thoughts of how you can capitalize on holiday promotions might be running through your head. Don’t despair, here are three ideas on how you can do just that!

We know that businesses who don’t see themselves as selling holiday products might think that they can’t run a holiday promotion, but that’s simply not true. Even business-to-business providers (like copywriters and designers) or service providers (like life coaches or personal stylists) can get in on the holiday action.
1. Stay on their radar (while at the same time building your email list) with a freebie
Instead of asking your customers to buy something from you, why not spread some goodwill with a holiday giveaway freebie. This is especially effective for those of you that sell, for example, big ticket items like consulting services, for thousands of dollars. These kinds of products and services typically require a “getting to know you period” to build trust between you and potential customers and so staying on their radar is key.
TIP: Make sure that it’s the kind of freebie that’s appealing and useful to your audience.
2. Run a contest
Holidays are a wonderful excuse to get generous with your audience, and contests and giveaways are incredible for generating leads. No matter what you offer, holiday-themed contests and giveaways are a fun and easy way to build your brand on social media.
TIP: Multi-day giveaways, in which you give out prizes every day for a certain period of the month (say, “12 Days of Christmas”) often get the best engagement on social media because fans come back again and again to enter.
3. Create an ad
#FACT: People are more likely to click on ads and take action on offers during the holiday season. Keeping in mind that shoppers are primed to look for end-of-year deals and steals – take advantage by running an ad offering some kind of discount or coupon.
TIP: if your product or service isn’t necessarily “holiday dependent,” consider adding an extension just a little past the holiday deadline.
